Flamingo Neighborhood Association is an older mobile home park located on Santa Barbara’s lower Eastside. We are a community, an oasis, tucked away and only a few blocks from the ocean and beach. Many Santa Barbara residents don’t even know we are here.
This community is a Senior Park. Most here are retired and on fixed incomes, and numerous residents have been here many, many years.
Our park is like many mobile home parks in that residents own our mobile homes yet we do not own the ground on which our homes sit. At the Flamingo, many residents are active and some are not. We find the balance with respect for those who prefer privacy while enjoying the feeling of community with those who are more social. We enjoy a community garden and the pool. Life at the Flamingo has been mostly good, so we work to maintain our joie de vivre.
